After a long stop due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, the FuSION – Intercultural heritage education for social inclusion – project has restarted.
The original project has been adapted to the new global pandemic situation in order to ensure the best impact on the beneficiaries and to minimise the risks related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the end of September, the project partners from Kenya, India, Italy, Spain, Ecuador and France met online to discuss about the changes to the project activities and to kick start again the works.
FuSION – (Inter)cultural heritage education For Social InclusiON aims to promote intercultural understanding, cooperation and social cohesion of disadvantaged young people and youth organisations on four different continents. The project will also develop new educational methods for the valorisation of (inter)cultural heritage among young people and through which a kit of gamification activities and a Manual on (inter)cultural heritage education will be developed.
This will be completed and complemented by the organization and implementation of:
- A transnational online workshop for youth workers on offline and online non-formal education, gamification and (inter)cultural heritage education;
- A local workshop for young people on non-formal education, intercultural heritage education, gamification and awareness-raising campaigns;
- Small-scale local contests on developing and promoting (inter)cultural heritage education activities for young people, youth organisations and informal groups;
At the end of the 2 years of the project and at the conclusion of all these activities, a big International Festival will be held in Palermo during which the winning teams of the local contests from each country will present their experiences and what they created and implemented during the awareness campaigns and the various local contests.
